Taranaki Gets a Taste Of Africa
Pouakai Zoo Park in New Plymouth will soon be host to these tiny furry bundles.The African Lion Cubs Asian and Asha will be coming to NP in August 2006 .A 5 1/2 metre fence will keep the lions at bay in their new 50m by 30m enclosure which will be filled with rocks and logs to keep the cubs entertained When fully grown Asian could reach 220 kg and Asha 160kg and both would be about 3 metres long.


Grandson Aaron thinks hes in heaven. His favourite toys are tigers, but this was close enough

Grand-daughter Kelsey is not too sure if she wants to pat a lion.As long as dads with me I.ll just look.


Teena gets up close and personal with a lion cub in Rotorua.This cub is now coming to Pouakai Zoo Park. NP
